Message from Ian McKay and Anna Baker, Matlock Golf Club Captains 2025

Anna and Ian are delighted to welcome you to Matlock Golf Club.

Situated in the North Derbyshire countryside, the views from the elevated tees allow for beautiful panoramic scenes of the course and beyond. The course is in excellent condition all year round and provides challenges and enjoyment for golfers of all abilities.

You will receive a warm friendly welcome from all our staff in our recently refurbished clubhouse. The course has been undergoing an extensive bunker and heather regeneration programme to uplift the playing characteristics of the course, I’m sure you will all enjoy the challenge.

Matlock’s membership fees are competitive and we have a busy calendar of competitions for members, matches against other local clubs and a full programme of social events. Matlock has membership and playing opportunities to suit all golfers and the Club Manager, Christian Goodman, is available to discuss playing options with both potential members and visitors.

You will always be sure of a friendly welcome here at Matlock.

We are proud to be part of a two year fundraising project for Ashgate Hospice which is an independent charity providing specialist palliative care across North Derbyshire.  Care is provided by a team of staff including palliative care consultants, specialist nurses and therapists, ancillary staff and a vast number of volunteers. The hospice delivers this care in their in patient unit in Chesterfield, the day hospice, the out patient clinics and through the Hospice at Home service, in patients own homes across North Derbyshire.

We would like to thank the 2024 Captains Lynn and Peter, for their tremendous effort in raising £11,500 for an Ashgate Hospice ‘Cuddle Bed’.  This is a hospital specification double bed to allow patients and their loved ones to be together towards the end of life.

We are very determined to raise the additional funds to achieve the goal of £20,000 to cover the cost of the bed and a specialist mattress, during our Captains year 2025.
