Offering spectacular views over the Derwent Valley, Matlock Golf Club was established in 1906 and designed by Tom Williamson. Derbyshire just on the edge of the Peak district.
This gives the course some fantastic backdrops and scenery. With different terrain to modern golf courses Matlock has stayed true to its design with cut and fill greens with steep banks. Accuracy over length is important.
The Golf Course is built on moorland with heather, gorse, wild flowers and diverse wild life prominent. A number of bird boxes are in place around the course with large areas of land maintained specifically to encourage different flora and fauna including wild orchids, insects and small mammals.
