Club Presentation Evening 2017

Presentation Evening

Matlock Captain Malcom Morley and Lady Captain Denise Morley welcomed over 70 members, family and friends to the 2017 Presentation Evening at the Clubhouse on Saturday 25 November at which 40 Matlock golfers received their awards and trophies .

Well Done Shelagh

Shelagh Lancaster County Ladies Golf Captain and Matlock member hosted an Am Am to raise funds to support the county's winter training programme.

18 teams of 3 from clubs all over the county, together with a Derbyshire County player or official played a stableford Am-Am.

1st Ashbourne Golf Club 84 points Gill Lockwood, Sandra Maxwell, Jill Bainbridge, Beth Griffin (County Squad- Chevin)

2nd Matlock Golf Club. 83 points Liz Sheerin, Denise Morley, Margaret Mills, with Libby Harrison (County Squad-Chevin)

3rd Mickleover Golf Club. 81 points Chris Parke, Chris Bull, Trixie Ayre, Jane Whyatt (County Senior- Matlock)

Junior Open 2017

12 year old Taylor Captures the Cup

On Sunday 17th May Matlock Golf Club welcomed 44 junior golfers from clubs around the county and beyond to compete for the Matlock Junior Open Trophy.

After near freezing temperatures the previous day the young golfers were pleased to find perfect early summer weather with sunshine and a gentle breeze.  The recent dry spell made the fairways hard and fast presenting a stiff challenge for all the competitors.

The Trophy was won by 12 year old Taylor Coleman from Branston Golf & Country Club recording a net score of 63 (83 -20- 63).

Josh Atkins ( Kedleston Park) Best Gross,77. Tom Mooney (Matlock) 2nd Gross 79. . Division One Best Net Jenna Ward ( 69) of Shirland Golf Club and Division Two Best Net, Harvey Sands (70) of Tapton Park.

The youngest competitor 9 year old Isobel Kelly from Erewash Golf Club scored 71 net.
